What would you recommend for tilt trailer that is slick/slippery when driving up small equipment. The decking is well oiled so not sure non-slip paint would work. The grit adhesive tape I been around always pulls up etc..
So what would you recommend to add to the surface that is already in place which I don't want to remove.

Expanded metal bolted to the floor. Yep I knew I would get that answer and yes it maybe the only other option to do. Thanks

Maybe the non-skid sticky stuff that goes on stair steps. Only attach it with screws and fender washers? Other than that I would have to think on it a bit.

Expanded metal bolted to the floor. Or hex head screws with the head up like tire studs. Or both expanded metal and raised head fasteners.

I got some great ideas from you guys. There are pros and cons for every application but might have to live with the cons to make it safer.
Thanks

Expanded metal bolted to the floor. Pieces of chain link fence

We have used epoxie with sugar sand in a shaker can.I have finished hundreds of tilt bed trailers from painting to hydraulics to wiring and brakes. http://www.travalong.com/tiltbed-trailer/

I gave up on the adhesive backed traction strips as they always came loose. Then I nailed some asphalt shingles down where the wheels were. I used aluminum roofing nails about every 3" all the way around the outside and about 4" apart across the width and length. They are still there and still working fine. During trapping season I am loading and unloading 4 or 5 times a day. Works great for me.

Bolt or screw down some thick rubber mat or mud flaps . Loading a skid loader with steel tracks on a trailer this is what I've done.

hex head screws in a offset pattern like the 5 on dice, like them better than expanded metal because mud washes off easier.they are cheap in bulk. That is the problem I have had with expanded metal they fill in with mud then it can be just as slick. Then you need to wash it out or clean it out to work well each time. I agree the expanded metal does grip very well and is what most do. The screws sounds like it might be easier to clean when mud is on the deck.

So what would you recommend to add to the surface that is already in place which I don't want to remove. Trailer floor wood or metal? Expanded metal would be faster on either. Just make sure you run it in the right direction for best traction....
