I enjoy my Post knife also. Definitely a case of “you get what you pay for”.

I own one and love it. How do you touch it up when it dulls a little? Im scared to put anything to it as sharpening is not my strong point.

I use a Dexter Russell 12" diamond sharpener sparingly. My last stroke is one on the non-beveled side to take the burr off (not sure if the sharpening God's approve of this but it works for me).

Use a steel - 2 strokes on top (bevel side) and one stroke on the bottom (flat side)
That should be all it takes with a quality knife made from good steel.

A smooth steel, not a striated one.

hav'nt needed to sharpen it yet,but when I talked to mr. post he recommended a diamond sharpener, I think he said 1200 grit.anything more course and you will be putting scrathes in the blade.

You'll have to order it online unless you have a specialty shop that would sell sharpening and butcher supplies.

Got mine from a nephew who was a butcher - had it for years...
You might try a restaurant supply house if you have one around.

Ive never used a steel so don't know much about them. I just use the square end of my cheap wiebe flesher and run that along my caribou. seems to keep it pretty sharp
