I know it's been talked about several times, but has anyone ever seen anything or caught a large black cat (not bobcat or domestic)?

Thought I saw one once, on a foggy day, while checking traps. On closer inspection, it turned out to be a neighbors Black Lab.

Somehow the distance and the fog made the tail look a lot longer. blush

I seen what I thought was one a long time ago,but it turned out to be a black bear with a long tail.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Every small town around here has seen a black panther, one guy argues that his relative saw a lynx..

In my teens I was parked deep in a woods with a pretty young girl. Backseat of a Ford Galaxy convertible, I recall. Was a very dark summer night and we were cuddled closely together. There was a horrifying scream from a big cat. Our eyes were closed, so it looked like a black cat to both of us. Waycross panther I believe.
