I'll get lambasted for this but I use the MB650 for late deep snow conditions.. But I've never owned a Jake.

If fox aren't in the area, get the extremes and have Kendall inside laminate them so they're legal. With the fox I have around I am using the Jr.s and love them. Like other replies I have never held a Jake

The juniors fit me best, the Extremes take too much waxed dirt to bed. The next dozed I purchas will have IL OL. The juniors are paw friendly and bed well. For me a 6 inch jaw spread is just right for coyote with fox present even with up to 4 inches of snow.

I own both, and for me it would be the K9 extreme. Mainly because price. One is $250 a dz, the other $380 dz. I got my jakes in on trade and it’s a fine trap, but honestly I don’t see the hype in them. Here's a big difference Set your favorite trap and a Jake Take a 1x1 wood scrap about 2 feet long and hold it between your thumb and finger gently push down on each pan and set them off That Jake trap will "JUMP UP" 4 - 6 inches It will knock the wood right out of your hand...the others don't Have not found another trap that jumps like that
