The bottom is 30 inches across about 24 inches tall and 4 feet long. That is with 2 inch webbing. They are 60.00 each plus shipping 318-465-5961

Wish we could sell them here

Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

Actually the price is way down from a few years ago. The increase in the people trapping come from the ripple effect, it just takes a while for the news to spread thru the trapping community. the current price is 1/3 of what it was 4 years ago since the overseas market has been shutdown, and I suspect with all the new people trapping them it will start to flood the market this year and prices will drop even further.

I would not worry about "all the new people trapping turtles". Newbees soon learn that turtle trapping is not as easy as muskrat trapping. Simply put it is hard work. Fun yes, easy no. Catching the turtle is just the starting point, you need to transport them home alive, have some kind of live holding system, then be able to transport them (alive) to your buyer, or develop your own meat market (not easy) and butcher them yourself. Almost all new turtle trappers I know of did it for less than 1 season and then quit. Most caught few turtles.
Now that I have gotten the negatives out of my system:It is a great rush to come up on a trap with a big snapper in it, or a dozen or more mid size (15 to 20 pounds)in one trap. It's trapping in summer weather, so my old bones don't get as cold. It's up and out before dawn to see some of the most beautiful sunrises ever. That, money cannot buy.
And yes Beaverfoot makes a great net trap.

Im guessing your looking at live weight price vs actual price of meat after processing?
