I'm making my own ground mice and I'm curious about the glycerin as I don't have any.. Instead of ordering it and paying the shipping , can I use mineral oil instead ? This I can buy at the feed store . I'm curious as to whether this is an alternative or a train wreck ! Thanks

If you just want a small amount you can buy glycerin at a drug store. There are different kinds of mineral oil. The stuff at the feed store is veterinary grade. Only lowers the freezing point a few degrees lower. Not a real good antifreeze.

Alot of old formulas call for paraffin oil. But as danny said it wont stand up to the cold as well as glycerine
