I saw on You Tube where a guy put a large pvc pipe inside an otter, and used that to flesh it (instead of putting a flat board inside). It was kind of surprising. He actually made it look pretty effective. Has anyone tried such a tactic for putting up a furbearer? Maybe the plastic tube was all he had in his garage, I don't know.

There are some who made fleshing beams out of 4"- 6" PVC with no modifications, other than cutting it to length?

You can find a few examples on this thread... https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads....ams#Post5123985

I use pvc pipe for my beam. I think its a 6". I did taper the end a little for making the face area easier to do. I do all my larger critters on it. I also have a 1-1/2" (I believe) pvc pipe for doing mink. Ive never really tried a wood beam. this works pretty well for me

Nice looking beam. But Is It from a PVC pipe? I'm still partial to wood.

I tried the PVC. I'm not going to say it is better than wood, but I liked it enough to where I'd like to try it again.

I've used my pvc beam for the last 3 years. really like it. Will never go back to wood. I copied Stu's beam off of his Youtube video.
