I hear a lot of guys complain about the three-position safety. What don't you like about it?

I have no trouble operating the one on my old 1963 M70.

Eh...wot?

I would get on gun broker and try to find a mod 70 that was made in New Haven. Seems like things keep getting cheaper as in cheaply made these days. The ones made in the south might be good, not sure. Never owned a browning. Jmo

Obviously both are great in their own regards. I also own a few of both makes, in magnums and long action clamberings. The stock on the Brownings absolutely beat the tar out of me at the range. This annoyance is not notable in the field though.
For the Winnie, it has no shortcomings, IMO.

I have a browning x-bolt eclipse varmint and I like everything about that gun! It's so accurate and I think the best part is the super feather trigger that browning put in there from the factory. It's the best factory trigger I have ever had

I still have nightmares about the mod 70 XTR that I had. Probably the only gun I have never, at some point, wished I had back that I have sold.
