bulletbox OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,558 Robert Lee, TEXAS	Brother Dave has been itching to come out west for a Rio Grande Turkey calling/hunt... Now I have a few turkeys on the ranch... the only problem was the wind was blowing about 30 mph.. But he over came that problem... He got this turkey behind the house... I watched most of the hunt from the back porch... The second turkey we jumped along with another bunch on the back side of the ranch... there were quite a few in this bunch... they came around behind the pickup, up on a flint hill behind me and I got to watch Dave play Elmer Fudd and sneak up on the bunch and call them back to him for a shot... The whole hunt with both turkeys was over before 10:30 am... It took him 7.5 hours to drive out here from home, one way..... We had a great day of visiting and eating... Watched the Final Four together... I just wished Dave, Sammy, and I lived closer together, so we could have more fun like this... PS: Dave there were 4 toms and about 8 hens where #1 came from this morning.... Then come to your place for a couple of days. Then back to Sams place and rest then drive the rest of the way home. That is some spectacular country folks at both Uncle BB's place and at Sammy Petty's. Absolutely stunning scenery. Blake, I still want to climb that Mountain your dad use to get on top of to listen to football games.
