Old one was cast iron instructions said "do not use as a battering ram", well when them super wind day come along and sparks are getting sucked out of the furnace flying all around as it starts to rumble towards a chimney fire decisions needed to be made! LOL

$400 for a new door and draft solenoid to fix it. Can't just get the parts you need no that would be easier and cheaper, so this box that weighs like #55-60lbs comes today and has a lot of stuff I will not need. At least the new door is stainless steel with not 1 but 2 "ramming plates" that came with it. wink The plates hang on the inside of the door to protect it if ramming is needed it looks like.

Has a 25 year warranty but it looks like they don't cover it even if they changed the design because it was a issue. Looking at the changes the whole door is probably needed with the hanging plates and the SS design style they have now.
