Anybody know much about these rifles. Saw one in a pond shop the other day in 30-30. They want 325.00 for it. Looks to be in good shape. Very different looking rifle with mannlicher stock. Thanks for the help. SARGE

Dont think there is alot to know about them really. I think they quit producing them in the early '80s. Had a couple of them pass through my hands over the years in 22 hornet and 30/30. $325 is kind of top dollar for that gun IMO. If its at a pawn shop they will have some wiggle room on the price.

Is it a bolt action? I don't know much about them but I always thought it would be cool to bo able to shoot pointed bullets.

ive got a handi rifle in 22 hornet. its very accurate. why I still have it. most of the time a bolt or semi is not really an advantage. you only get one good shot anyway.

I had a complete set of H&R rifles years ago including the one described. It is nice that you can load pointed bullets in them but the triggers were terrible!

I have nothing clever to put here.

I would call the triggers stiff . they are one of the safest hammer guns around because of the anvil that raises when you start to pull the trigger you could beat on the hammer with a hammer and it not go off . I've got a handi rifle in .223 it's quite accurate once you get used to the stiff trigger .

Generally, the more wood you have on a rifle, the more chance you have of warpage. I owned a 7mm Rem manlicher that shot 1 ragged 5 shot group in the winter, and 2in groups in the summer.

www.graybeardoutdoors.com They have a H&R forum. Someone there should be able to help you. Sounds kind of high to me too. I’m no expert though. I just checked and you need to click on GBO Forums at the top of the page.
