What's your guess for the ONE lure that has sold the most by volume over the years?

I have sold well over 2 tons (by weight) of my ADC's Raccoon Trail Mix bait, which I'm sure is drop in the bucket of the big time bait makers. I wouldn't be surprised if Rich Kasper has probably sold that much in a season of his predator bait. But I was curious about LURE not bait.

I'd guess Dobbin's Backbreaker is up there pretty near the top of the list.

I would guess one the Hawbakers lures would be the most sold lure. They've been around a mighty long time, and have been popular a mighty long time.

I'll second Backbreaker as being in the top of the top ten. I know I haven't been without a bottle or two in the truck foe the last decade.

Gotta agree with Paul on Stanley Hawbakers. Red fox 100 was the first commercial lure I ever bought near 50 years ago, and after trying dozens of others it still has it's place in my pack.

The 1st commercial lure I purchased was Hawbaker Beaver Lure. Sometime in the 60s.

Absolutely no doubt Hawbakers. Not even close. Probably red fox 100 or something like that. I doubt if any other company has sold 1/10th the number of lures that Hawbakers has.

Sold the most by volume was the question.
Carmans Canine Call was around for sure in the 70s,mabe earlier.
Im certain he sold gallons, and gallons to government trappers
I bought (300) 1oz bottles at one time ,then another 150,and even more in lesser amounts.

I'm taking about ONE Lure not the entire line of lures.

Just to make a point look at it this way. In the 70s and 80s, when Hawbakers was the most popular lure, there were 20, heck maybe 40 times as many trappers as there are now. They sold tens of thousands of bottles of lure a year. It was big business back then. Lure companies that came along after 1987 haven't sold as many lures in their lifetime as Hawbakers would sell in one year back then.

No doubt in my mind the best selling lure of all time would be one of Hawbakers and my guess would be Red Fox 100 because it was one of their first lures (1930s?) and it's still used today. Another possibility would be their long distance call lure. It has also sold hundreds of thousands of bottles. Still a fantastic lure for winter canine trapping and for fisher.

My first guess was Hawbakers 100 too before I read down through the thread.
