I've had these today: Juncos Bluejays Red-breasted Nuthatches White-breasted nuthatches Cardinals Red-winged blackbirds Purple finches Goldfinches Downy Woodpeckers Hairy Woodpeckers Pileated Woodpecker Chickadees Red bellied woodpeckers Pine siskins Redpolls And some kind of raptor that swooped in so fast I never got to see what it was. The birds sure scattered though.

4 At around sunrise 2 pelicans for sure, 1 Egret and one Great blue heron. Mind you, the bird feeder left me for 10 days to look after a house, dog and cats while the kids go on a vacation
Let's go Brandon

We've had Redpolls by the 100's since Christmas. Both the Common and Hoary. Used to have a nice group of Gold Finches stay all winter but with all the Redpolls I did not see many finches. Lots of Juncos, chipping sparrows, blue jays, starlings, Downy Woodpeckers, pheasants, house sparrows, Sparrow Hawks(Kestrels), Great horned owls, pine siskens, creepers and now blackbirds and grackles. I probably missed some. I hear ya when you talk feed costs. They were going through 2 socks of thistle seed a day.
PS. If anyone builds some unique bird houses (single level) give me a shout.

Thank you for your shares! The visibility around my feeders was grim from the fierce rain/snow/sleet storm here early yesterday morning that I couldn't really identify many beyond the few normal regulars. There were at least over 50 birds in and out in the brief flurry. From the different colors and sizes I was able to detect only the locals, but I know there were many newcomers in the mix. After those incoming left, I headed to the marsh camera hunting looking for hawks, eagles and shorebirds. Not much going on over there in the wild weather, except for an assortment of sparrow species, horned larks, robins, juncos and huge numbers of seagulls. My best shots of the day were of a Killdeer and a pair Northern Pintails landing in a corn stubble field. Jonathan

Probably 100 in sight at one time. Lots of activity at the feeders. Today we have: gold finches purple finches mourning doves downy woodpeckers hairy woodpeckers red bellied woodpeckers blue jays cardinals juncos chipping sparrows black capped chickadees nuthatches titmice and a purple grackle - all at the feeders right here. Other predator species further out. (Good thing Zim didn't get a photo of me filling those feeders!)
