Any of you BC guys in the know have any viewpoints on how the supposed wolf cull program is going?

Yea I grew up in that area, and know a lot of the guys involved. Its going well. They are seeing more moose than they have in 30 years now. I think they waited to long to really help the caribou, but better late than never I guess. With the Govt they have now I doubt if the program will continue though. Now if they would quite spraying the cut blocks....

What’s the effect of spraying the cut blocks Yukon? I’m not familiar with the practice.

Once the cut blocks are replanted, they spray the whole thing from the air. The idea is to kill all the willows and broadleaf so the new trees will grow faster. Of course this isn't good for moose, or any other wildlife for that matter, to say nothing about what its doing to the water. Some say it actually kills birds and rabbits. Big push to get it stopped, but the logging industry has a lot of power there. They used to thin the willows by hand, but spraying is more cost effective.
