Metformin has not made me have diarrhea if that's what you're referring to.

Guys, for those of you looking for low carb ideas for meals, I brought my low carb cooking thread back up to the top. https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/6219205#Post6219205I know a bunch of people now who ate their way out of Type 2 and no longer need any meds for diabetes or blood pressure which drops along with your insulin levels. If you're interested, you might see some ideas there. Good luck to you all! Patrice

Off the meds and just got back to 2 year CDL medical Certification. Oh happy day! Congratulations Hobbie. tell us how you did it If it taste good, spit it out. lol Not quite that bad but definitely a life style change. I stop eating long before I quit being hungry. Sugar in is measured as is the salt. Walking and calisthenics. Those things caused weight loss. I didn't take it serious until my blood pressure started to climb.

I went completely without alcohol for 6 weeks while dropping 20 lbs and now that I'm at my desired weight an occasional beer or wine. All in moderation. My weight is staying where I want it so I feel OK about the occasional indulgence.
But what do I know?

So as a new learner trying to get it controlled by diet.Dr. gave me june 28th as my test day to see how my A1C comes out. How do any if at all deal with Beer on occasions? or any hard liquor recommendations that are not bad...betting none. I drink 3 beers a year and maybe 3 glasses of wine. Doesn't appear to have any adverse effects.

Diabetes can be controlled. But let me say one thing. There is no such thing as PRE- DIABETES or PRE- HYPERTENSION. Another term the AMA came up with. Either you have diabetes or you don't. You have high blood pressure or you don't.
Oh and A1C has been shown to be a flawed test.

I don't know that it's flawed as much as how they try to put everyone in the same box with it.
It seemed pretty spot on when mine was 15. Drinking and peeing constantly, double/ghost vision. Everything but the stroke. lol

Certain meds can raise glucose readings. My BP med does. Funny (or not so funny) story is my doc did blood work one physical and A1C was iffy (5.8) and fasting glucose was 100. Later that summer my life insurance did a complete physical on me and my A1C was middle of the road reading (can't remember but wasn't near 5.7) and fasting glucose was 82.

Oh and A1C has been shown to be a flawed test. that's probably a true statement. lets say if I dont get it down in 90 days I get metaform. so i'm trying to eat right and test 2x day and learn from All your inputs.
