I was browsing on Ebay and see where there is a "troop trap". Says it is a 115 newhouse. Has mex. City, Mex. stamped on the pan. I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about this trap. Or is this another fake? Thanks.

Made from 1960-1970 by Ernest Troop out of Texas.

Newer model trap. Came in 2 different sizes. Has some collector value.

Starting bid of $400.00 isn't too bad - not totally out of line according to the books.

The story is that Mr. Troop used them to trap mountain lion in Mexico and he stamped the pans with Mex. City Mex. to avoid paying duty on them when entering Mexico.

It is not actually a Newhouse trap but does have Newhouse springs.
