What are some good plant companies online?
My wife is wanting to plant a bunch of roses but at $20-$30+ a pop is too much right now.

Thanks

Not sure about rises but we have bought a bunch of roses from Walmart and Menards , had good luck with them . they are the cheap ones that have a bag on the root ball

Lol thanks for the catch.
We bought some from Walmart last year and they didn't return. I'll look at Menard online since we don't have one

I sure didn't say that. I've used Jung's for over 30 years with zero problems.

My grandmother would start roses in the fall from cuttings from folks she knew that had nice rose bushes. Basically you cut a stem that had a flower and plant it and cover with a wide mouth jar. Just search web for specifics.

With the two foot of snow we just got, suppose I will not be planting anytime too soon. New saying is going to be April snows bring May Flowers. Good to see global warming continuing!

If you want to buy cheap perennials and trees, the best time to buy is when plant sales slow down, going into late Spring and all the nurseries and stores try to get rid of their remaining inventory. Rose bushes sell for a few dollars or less and trees for about the same. I have bought 6' fruit trees for $1.97 at the end of season.

I would not recommend R.H. Shumways out of Wi. Got dead plants and postage eats up any credit they might give you.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Henry Fields is a good place. Order from them all the time. Have a lifetime gardening guarantee that they stand behind.

Not roses but I've had nothing but great service from both Southern Exposure Seeds and Baker Creek aka rareseeds.com.
