I personally love this one. If I had a nickel for everytime some "Legal expert" or some butthurt brat told me he would have my job, I'd been retired on a beach somewhere long ago. And somedays I think Burger king wouldn't be all that bad.

And No....I sure aint afraid lawsuites. Been through plenty...and never lost one. And made a boat load of money winning them in Overtime. Now I try to convince the crybabies to sue me. Or at least complain.

My reference was to radar detectors and being called a Thief. So I copied and posted how the Missouri Statue reads which includes Jammers. I'm sorry if it offended someone who didn't know what they were talking about.

Catching speeders is not rocket science and there's enough of them that Jammers are not a concern.

Mr. Peterson got it right.
I have a Bell, don't use it in my big trk illegal. I do use it on long trips in my pickup for reason stated above. It also let's me know if there's a wreck ahead, if the cops are there.

Agree

I will remain extemmely focused on the entire trip and only push it on long open stretches , I'm not about to endanger my family or others.

Theft is theft, whether the mafia in suits at the state Capitol say it's OK or not. God watches thieves and doesn't cotton to them either. Same as speeders.

Due to this thread, the route is going to be staked out this weekend, and they’ll be waiting to hit you with a 40 mph over ticket and/or ride carpool to the station.

Just kidding, law enforcement doesn’t read message boards or act on tips reported from them.....

Since radar technology has advanced, the time has come for a smart phone app updated in real time by motorists of police locations. The info is collected and disseminated to other app users in an x mile radius. If I were smart enough to make an app for this I'd be a millionaire.

Question Officer Barnes,

As A Law Enforcment Officer,

How Do You Detect If Someone Is Deploying A Radar Jammer In Their Vehicle ?

Do You Have Radar Jammer Detection Devices, and Do You Have Probable Cause To Search For Said Jamming Devices If You Detect Them, And Do You Need A Warrant To Search A Vehicle For Suspected Radar Jammers ?

w

Jammers can be detected typically only on a suspicion that every time you see a vehicle and try to clock its speed on radar it gives off erratic readings. Most people leave them sitting on their dash. Anybody who wants to search a vehicle for a suspected radar jammer is a loon, especially where jammers are very uncommon. The penalty (usually traffic ticket) isn't worth searching for the evidence.

Radar detectors, most people leave them on their dash. Plain view doctrine in that case so yeah, you can seize it as evidence to a crime.

If you're in any state and committing a crime you can confiscate evidence of the crime, it's not "stealing" just because it is legal where you are coming from. Say it is legal for somebody to drive drunk in their home state and they cross state lines with beer they purchased at home. That beer and they can be seized for evidence of drunk driving. You aren't "stealing" their beer and themselves just because they began their adventure where it was legal.

Haha bear in the air. Haven't heard that since the C.B. radio days.
If speeding tickets amounted to anything more than revenue collection and job security the government would have put a .97 cent computer chip in cars by mandate to limit speed to that decreed by the know-better-than-yous.

Same with DUI Finn or any other infraction that calls for losing a license. No one quits driving. The various branchs of govt and LE just get ever increasing fines. If anyone really thought the person losing license was a danger they would be in jail.

A DWI is not an infraction, it's a Misdemeanor or a Felony depending on how many prior DWI's you have. I don't know of any infraction that cause's you to loose your license.
