Went scouting and the rats are building huts. Marked some runs for body grip sites.

Built a stake puller and a few dozen cable stakes. Got permission on a new chunk of property. Added a few more pocket gophers to the bait pile.

Made some cable quick attachments for DPs

I set a few beaver traps, and picked up one beaver in a damage control job for the county.

I just ordered the Fur Handling video off of Wisconsin Trappers Association Page. I’ve been told many times that it’s one of the absolute best fur handling videos out there.

Have a co-worker who's kids are just starting out trapping. Took him a whole bucket full of different baits and lures to give them. Hope they enjoy it and have some success with it! Jim

I put improved chain and swivels on a dozen traps and made the cable stakes to go with them.

Decided to call it for the year gopher trapping. Cleaned traps and gear and put them away. Cubed gophers for coyote bait, will age some and freeze the rest. Counted and tallied my total for the year, 447 Pocket gophers and 73 striped gophers. Not bad for this summer.
