Still looking at two feet of ice here, but with the warm temps it cant last forever.

Getting back into fishing. Long time coming. Did good on the lake trout this winter. Got the boat out and added a few things. New Lowrance fishfinder and chart plotter, got new rod holders on the way, plus on board battery charger for the trolling motor. Also, gonna mount the downriggers I have had forever.

Generally go after pike, bass, walleye and now a bit of lake trout. Anyone else looking forward to fishing this year?

Yessir. Fished in my first catfish tournament last weekend. Always fished for cats, but never in a tournament. We finished first with 5 fish for 79 pounds. Just bought a boat last fall and can't wait to get time to take it out some more. The ole blue cats are calling me!

The river below my house has cutthroat, rainbow, brown, lake and bull trout, small and largemouth bass, walleyes, crappie, perch, sunfish.lake and mountain whitefish and bullheads. It has suckers, tench, pea mouth chub and northern pike minnows, so I am a generalist, if it bites I catch it. I have been a couple times already and caught two cutthroat and a giant pike minnow, the water needs to warm up a little but yes I am always ready for a fishing trip. Oh yeah I forgot northern pike.

Bought a "new" boat this year and had it out once already with a buddy and we did well on walleye. Taking it up to Ontario with my dad, brother, brother-in-law and his dad in mid-June, pretty excited about that trip. Right now I'm waiting for the snow to melt and the water to warm up so the suckers will run up the river and I can shoot some with my bow.

I have always been lousy at deep water fishing. The northern pike always go deep in summer and I plan on finding the big ones. I can catch fifty small ones mid summer, but the large fish actually cant tolerate warm water. Once a fish reaches about five lbs, they head for deep water once things warm up.

Gonna spend some time finding them this summer. Also, walleye in the fall were fun last year. Gonna go for it again this fall.

Lost all interest last year with second arm surgery, couldn’t go and the bug never came back. For guys that still go, best of luck.

The water here is still to cold for any good fishing unless one wants to hook up with big sharks. The whites have mostly moved on but the sand tigers and bulls are here now. But still to cold for Kings and Mahi and I think again no season for Cobia this year.

Water low and a bit cold here. But I’ve been getting some crappies and big gills for a couple weeks now.

Look for those deep, rock sharp shorelines where the lake trout like to keep the ciscoes pinned up. Troll them 25-30 deep, unless you see the ciscoes up hi then troll at 10. Many of those truly large jacks spend the summer suspended under the clouds of ciscoes schools 30- 40 feet deep.

Weather finally shifting from winter here. The baitfish are starting their trek up the coast with bluefish and stripers in tow. Any day now ! Topwater slammer blues till your arms can’t take it!

I'll be more excited in Sept-Oct, summer is way too hot with too many bright days for much fun fishing. Right now the creeks are double full and it's raining as I type.
