Moles are digging the heck out of my mother-in-laws lawn. I rolled the mounds with my lawn mower and the next morning they were back. Apparently cats don't control them like they do rats. This is happening in front of the barn, I don't know how many cats she has, but I haven't seen a rat or a mouse or any signs of them for years in the barn.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

You can get pellets to put in the mole runs....when it rains it turns to a gas. Gas being heavier than air it descends thru the mole runs and kills them.

One of my landscape customers has this done and it works.

Traps are the surefire way. Talprid works for some, but cut the worms into 3rds if you use it. Tons of info on the ADC side of the house.

I've never tried it but heard juicy fruit chewing gum. Bury it in wrapper around the hills, they eat it, get gummed up inside and die. Knew a few old people who swore by it.

Scatter some grub control. It will kill the food source. They will leave. A typical mole must eat ever hour or they starve. That is why they make miles of tunnel looking for food.

Trapline traps are probably the easiest to learn how to be effective with. They are really super traps for the small and medium size mole. the Eastern mole is what I would call a medium size mole between 6 and a bit over 7 inches long for the average. The standard size Trapline is what I use on Coast mole here and it's average length is 6 inches. The large size Trapline would work fine but it is more suited for the Townsend that we have here with a average length of 8 inches.
The next best trap would be the Victor Out O Site. There can be a learning curve with those but they are a very good trap and more available then the Trapline which you will have to buy from the maker in CA.
