It took a lot of patience but we got it done This morning at 6:45 am. She hit her bird 20lbs. 1" spurs double beard 9 1/2" & 6 1/2" Last day of her season I would love to say a talked sweet nothings to that bird and it came in in a string but I went with the silent treatment on it, and the bird provided the show. Strutting and gobbling to us from 200+ yards and the last 30 yards took the longest Good job to my wife and way to stick it out .

My hunt starts tomorrow, goes until th 31st
Son got his early this season 10 1/4" Beard
The wife's double beard
Both standing in almost same spot
Hope I don't have to settle for a jake, But is rather they get theirs first as I've killed plenty of birds

Being a lady Hunter I would think the "silent treatment" hunting style was right in her wheelhouse.
Great picture, congratulations.

Yesterday we were right in front of a big group ( turns out we were behind) that were making all sort if calls. But they all left and went away from us. Watched on gobbler pace back and furth on his roost limb. We had set a little too close to him
She has hunted 6 mornings and at least 10 evenings of her two week season Glad we got if done this morning

Lots of birds killed in Michigan today, a few friends tagged out this morning, and local sport shop had quite a few brought in... 3 big toms came thru the front yard today, plus had 2 toms in full strut on the road.....
Hopefully tmrw the birds are as active.....

My All Purpose Boy and I will be pairing up to assault the neighborhood gobblers in the A.M. I hope to bag the one real nice tom we have hanging around, but if any adult tom gets within range I may just shoot it instead and hope my son whacks the big one. There has been turkey hunters slow-roll past the place several times today, so I may not get a chance at the big one before one of those guys gets it first (state land borders parts of my place). Only time will tell. Good luck folks.

Good luck in the morning.
Coincidence the double beard is my wife's second bird, my 2nd bird killed 21 years ago was a double beard killed less than a mile from hers

I do think the birds are moving better now than the past 2 weeks, as I was head out the door tonight I seen a tom in the plowed field that is between my house and the area my wife got hers He was rolling around dusting himself in the dirt. Almost looked like he just got shot he was flopping so much in the dust.
