Driving in the panhandle of Florida @ 9:10 PM Thursday evening, there was a "coydog" or red wolf on S.R. 83 South of HWY 2. Can't wait to hear from others in the area to see if there has been other sightings!

more than likely just a red colored coyote. I catch several of them a year. I caught this weird colored one the other day...

Some time ago the Feds. did a research on what was to be Red Wolf and found out that there is no Red Wolf , it is just a mix of coyote and wolf. because some was trying to say there was Red Wolf and was try to push for more laws and then found out there is none.It was around your area and up some north of you also. Like was stated it is just the red coyotes.I had caught some red coyotes in one area where I use to trap here in Iowa.

That pic clearly represents what I seen. Don't want to "stir the pot" but, fact is fact!

Assuming it was a red wolf....how do you figure it got there? They are extirpated and then reintroduced to a couple of counties in North Carolina? That's a long ways away. You distinguished it from a coyote just driving down the road?

Pass - ET, you tell me. Just placed (in words) what I seen out there!

I catch 3 to 10 coyotes ever year that are as red as any red fox that I get tan and sell. More then likely it was just a good wall hanger running across the road.
