I've seen some great posts on knives folks have built. So I thought we could use a thread to show off some of our builds without high jacking someone else's thread. So lets see em' folks. I'll lead us off with a couple I built for my kids.

Both knives are made from 4140

very nice,i worked 20 plus years at cutco/kabar so i've made a couple.will be makin a trap spring knife or 2 as they have really caught my attention.

Glad you liked them. I look forward to seeing your results. I plan on making a trap spring knife myself, just haven't found a spring to work with. I might just buy a new spring and go from there.

I bought a finished,Damascas blade and made the handle from the humerus bone of a wolf.I shaped the guard and pommel from nickel silver blanks and did the scrimshaw as well.I also built the sheath for it.I have some pictures of the progress but they are being held captive in my old computer.

I think this is something that I could get into. That being the case me thinks it wont be cheap. That seems to be the way things work for me. It seems reasonable to start then, BAM, I jump all the way in. I can't think of a hobby that I have that has not cost me a good bit of money. I thought spending time with my wife was cheap, three kids later, no so much. Like I said, both feet first.

I've made a bunch with purchased blades and folder kits but this is my first blade from scratch. Made it from an old one piece chainsaw blade. Scales are olive wood.

Beautiful knives great work! I have made many but nothing fancy and I use all of them.

The wood on these are from a pallet I had laying around and of course horn for the others.

Getting hard to find decent oyter knives any more. I like wooden handle and thin blade. No plastic or bolster.

That's just a Block of Oak Aix . if you like white get yourself a couple scales of Micarta ..comes in black and white probly more colors and is as tough as steel
