Got the rest of the material out, and the floor on this weekend. Got the panels spray foamed this week, and loaded on the boat Friday night. I figure each section weighted almost 500 lbs

Winched them up the 100 yards to the cabin. Worked good. Had a bit of help from my dad and father in law. Now for walls!

And of course help from Mrs Hutchy! Who backfilled the grey water pit while we brought up the floor. She was so proud. She worked so hard she got a badge of honor. A big ol blister on her hand! Haha

Beautiful!

The project will be a very rewarding venture when completed. I have done a similar build with each piece of material hand carried/sledded to cabin site. All work done with hand tools and chainsaw. Not all pretty but has character for sure. LOL

I love your build continue to share your dream with us.

Pretty cool Hutchy, can't wait to see her finished!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Thanks guys! Snowy, cordless tools have changed how stuff is built remotely in a big way! I have six 5.2 amp hour batteries for my cordless Hilti kit and can get a full day in even using the skillsaw so generators and such will only be needed for running the framing nailer. We use chainsaws for dock work a lot when using timbers, etc.

Getting stuff there is competely the same however!! Sore backs and legs haha

Yes you are right about the cordless powered tools. I didn't have any and was to cheap to buy any of them. LOL I did lie I forgot I did use my cordless Makita drill. I set screws with it so not all hand tools I did forget about that. Ya the hard part like your build is getting supplies there. Thanks for the update keep us posted Hutchy.

How much more is a Canadian raccoon? Sure you are having fun, and more power to you.

According to the MNRF trap cabin use in generally unrestricted and acceptable activities for use of the cabin include but are not limited to trapping, hunting, fishing, Berry picking, bird watching, etc.

So the price of fur has no bearing on it, and if I ever choose to sell it I can negotiate a good price with the buyer of the line.

Well as was the goal for the weekend we got the walls up! The boss, myself and kia the dog were back at it again. And once again, Steph did most of the work and I was able to get some shut-eye ..

The only bad thing about today aside from the heat was the bosses owie ...darn tree root! I of course am unscathed. I recall being awoken from my slumber by Steph complaining about a little nick! Why did you turn the generator off? Back to work! We will never get this job done if you keep complaining! I fell asleep soon after again and awoke to the walls being complete! It's a good life!

grin

Have good help?? I am the help!!

I get laid off (sort of) once winter comes, so the idea is to finish it off when the real time off starts. Just have to bring everything in by boat because until the ice freezes good it's walk in only. Once the roof is on and windows are in I can putz around with wiring, plumbing, insulation, and the interior. Not sure what I'll do for siding yet but the local mill invited me down to look at their culled material/ messed up orders.

Your window looks a tad low.

Boco, I am missing a few sheets of plywood on that corner. There is a window there, but we are figuring out heights and then cutting the windows out.

And yes, sixty yards to Georgian bay, and awesome bass, walleye and pike. Lakers too further out. I am a few kilometers from the the best walleye fishery in this part of Georgian bay, so there's that.
