I read this online somewhere. Anyone ever try using an air compressor to help skin a furbearer? I think it was a beaver this guy tried it on. He said to avoid using too much air though:
"Just make a small hole around the tail....put an air nozzle in it hold it tight and put some air pressure to it and it will separate all the skin from flesh then just peel it off."

In my opinion, it is a total waste of time, but give it a shot for yourself. Then might as well try the power washer fleshing technique too. smile

I didn't figure the air pressure method was too popular. Was just curious.

I'm a very unskilled coyote skinner, so I use the air pressure method. I don't think it helps a ton, but any little cheat that helps me get my skinning job under 30 minutes is worth it for me. It seems to make it easier to get your fingers between the skin and flesh when you pull.
Best way to make skinning easier is to only skin young coyotes. It seems like the old ones are harder than the young ones.

I've tried the air compressor trick on a few coyotes with little or no positive results, I'm to old fashioned I learned the hard way in the school of grip it and rip it off the carcass.
There's many tricks to making skinning critters easier the sooner you get them hung up to skin the better if possible, if not hang them by the hind legs to store and before you start skinning them pull the front legs apart which when you get to that point you see how much of a difference that will make.
If you like send me a pm and I'll explain this better my thumbs get tired hunting and pecking on my Kendal ha ha

I have tried It and In my opinion It's a total waste of time. Air goes In then you make your first cut the air goes out and your back to square one.

But Is pretty neat to see that critter turn Into a furry basket ball.
