Can't wait to see what possums do.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

My thoughts on today's sale - as a buyer, I'm glad I sat this one out for the most part. Prices ranged from insane (ringtails) to blah (possum and squirrel).
I only listened to a small portion of the auction. The bidding on the wolverines was crazy. Quite a few of them went for a hundred dollars or more over the starting price. Going up five bucks at a time is difficult on the auctioneers voice! Only 1 wolverine sold for less than $100.00.
Complete wolves did well. Top price was $510.00, which is a bit low. Lots of wolves sold In The $100.00 to $300.00 range. Which is very good.
In complete wolves struggled, especially on the lower end. I suspect that the collection is picked over but the limits haven't been adjusted.
Bears did very well. Lots of them over $100.00. Only 3 sold for $50.00 or less. This is a good sign, especially for those shippers with less than perfect bears.
Fox - white, cross, wild silvers. Sold almost 100% but prices were very reasonable. I have a feeling quite a few of those pelts would have brought more in the country.
Possum - basically no interest except for the two lots of blacks. Which is interesting because country buyers will tell you that black possums have no value. But at NAFA a $1.00 black possum is worth more than a Bought Back ordinary possum. I expect that NAFA will PT a large quantity of possum after the fact. That is usually the way it works.
Ringtails - the better goods did very well. Top lot ringtail was the 10 skins that graded II and slights at $27.00!! The IIIs and damges were bought back AGAIN. Some of those pelts are almost as old as Beav and many of them are missing the tails. A ringtail without the tail is worthless.
Skunks - about what they normally do. Larger full stripes did well. Small sizes and no stripes struggled.
Badger - the very best sold but at prices lower than usual. Middle grade skins sold for prices in the $8.00 to $15.00 range, which is normal. Low end skins were selective bought at two to three bucks, which is normal.
Ermine - about what they normally do. It was surprising that more of the IIIs didn't sell, as that item is usually bought up at about a buck to a buck quarter.
Overall, the clearance on the zoo items was good for the most part. But unless you trap wolverine or ringtails or bears (Canadian shippers only). Prices were nothing to write Home about.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the wild fur does.
