Was fishing today and rounded a bend in the creek, and a rat popped up on the shallow side of the creek.
I went into observation mood. I thought the rat was going on the bank to eat,I was partly right. It was eating caddis fly larva. I moved up on the high bank for a better look, and it was diving down to a small debris pile on the bottom. I watched that rat make 10 more trips to the bottom, and each time go to the bank and eat another caddis larva.
Is this common, and should I gather a bunch of these larva and make a little oil to and to a rat food lure. Your thoughts.
