I think you might need chest waders just to be on the safe side.

Listening to that clip reminded me of that other goof ball a couple years back that made friends with brown bears... What was his name again? Didn't he get eaten? Timothy Treadwell I believe was his name. He and his girl friend got eaten by some of Alaska's finest. He was crazy and deserved to be eaten. But, she wanted to leave; things were getting too scary with one bear in particular.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

That is a good question and that I do not know. I totally understand your point. Like I said, I have not listened to the podcast, but know adventures he does are real. Now, to answer your question- I have no idea- you have a point there.
I have experienced red fox at close range...maybe 5 feet or so. But a lot of the critters in my area have never seen a human. However......I have never had a wolf act like that. It is very typical to see behavior like that in places like Denali National Park. It's just my opinion, but those really can't be considered "wild" animals. They are so habituated to humans that their behavior is completely abnormal. That's why they sleep in the middle of the road and allow people to approach and take pix. Unfortunately, most of the touristas think this is normal behavior for 'wild' animals.......and that is what the Park Service is selling. Dave Mech, the wolf biologist who coined the term "alpha wolf" has lamented that ever since. He says there is really no such thing. Better to refer to them as a breeding pair.

Sounds like he has a man crush on that anti-Farley Mowat. As soon as I heard him drop that name there was no doubt in my mind. Anyone who believes wolves live on mice are out to lunch.
