Sad times that were in, that are children can’t even be safe

children would be safe if a potential murderer didn't know if one of the teachers was going to a pistol competition after school, or duck hunting, or to sight in a new rifle and might be armed. if johnny had gramps shotgun to repair the stock in woodshop or if Jennifer was cleaning the 22's used by the school rifle team.

those school shooters are cowards everyone. time to end this nonsense that jimmy cant have a pocket knife at school and all firearms must be left at home

Kids don't wear back packs when In school so what would be the benefit?
About a month ago I saw their add On local TV. I think on their part It's just a money making scheme.

I ordered 1 for my daughter and the next day my daughter came home from school and said they were no longer aloud to carry backpacks in school.

I thought of this after the Florida shooting. Come to find out they are already making them in full force.

When I was in school we were allowed to bring our shotgun or rifle to school and stash it in the cloak room along with the ammo so we could hunt while going home after school. No one bothered it nor thought about shooting classmates. I still have the shotgun and rifle an neither has gone on a shooting spree at school. If I were to give them to a teenager today, all bets are off. I am almost 67 and seen our society degrade to the point it isn't even recognizable. There we also many guns outside in vehicles, unlocked, and no one bothered them either.

I set up my son with a level 4 xl plate in his back pack maybe 5 years ago. The school called me to say it was not necessary. I made an appointment with the principal and resource officer.

Told them when the resource officer stopped wearing his I would agree that my kid would stop having armor in his pack.

They replied with silence.

So your kid wore his back pack while sitting In his class room?

I was at a HS graduation last night and I looked around and said to my self If some one opened up with gun In here more people would have been killed or injured as they panicked In the bleachers.

I can see even If you thought you could take the person down you would be stampeded Into the ground before you could take the first step. And If you were carrying the chances of getting off a shot would have been slim and none.
Just getting out of the place when It was over with out panic was a chore. I just can't imagine.

Did th same thing with both my kids and had almost the same conversation with the principle

I have a computer bag that folds out into a bulletproof shield about a 20 inches by 40 long

That's the point. These kids are getting shot In the class room or in the halls between classes

My kid had his with him all day long...it was a small pack. Xl rifle plate is not very large and will fit in a laptop briefcase.

It is a totally different world and much as we might like to think we can fix it tomorrow its not likly to happen and when it does it will Take years to do, but before that even begins it will get a lot worse before the powers that be will get the free their collective (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) and address the real issues that fuel the problem

Right now and t is just easier to blame guns and the NRA instead of the real reasons which are complex and require people’s le to actually think and reason for themselves instead of having the answers given to them

Well I realize that but putting a bunch of bullet proof back packs on some kids Isn't going to stop them from being killed. It seems to me that It just puts more stress on the kid. I better be wearing my bullet proof back pack today so I won't get offed at school.

I dont think so if you ask me it’s no different then putting kids through fire drills or active shooter drills m
In the case of my kids it was just another piece of safty equipment dad made them use like the bike helmet or s at belt or those pads I made them wear when running their scate boards on the ramps none of those put any more stress on them or by should having a bulletproof plate in their backpack

Heck after a few days they forgot it was even there

Not to step on toes, but it can give a false since of security. A lot of exposed body parts, and the head. Teaching your kids to think on their feet , adapt, and improvise in any situation is far more useful.
