After a gong show spring due to quad breakdown and only being able to kinda run my baits when I had family around I ended it on a good note tonight. Quad got fixed Monday and I hunted Monday night at a different bait and only saw a small blonde.

Tonight walking into this bait I kicked off a small black and around 6 had a small blonde come in. 730 the wind died right down and not 15 minutes now later another small black cane running in but you could hear another bear off to the left of the bait. After 5 minutes or so the small one ran off and this guy came marching in! I knew he was a shooter instantly so I focused on calming myself and letting him come into the barrel. He got next to the barrel and was slightly quartering to me and I gave him one with the trusty 338 win mag which put him nose first into the dirt and he never moved!!!

Nice bruin. Is that a entry hole in its noggin or an old sore?

How about a good old fashion black bear hunt without the drum, does anybody do that up in the north. Nice looking bear

I know they hunt them over bait barrels but to me there doesn't seem to be much hunting involved. More like Buffet shooting. Looks like a nice bear though, glad you enjoyed yourself.

BBarnes and Pilgrim22, The type of land/terrain/country ...whatever you want to call it Dictates if a spot and stalk hunt is even feasible. By your finger pointing question we can tell you've Never hunted Bear, let alone in a Wooded environment.

Congrats on a successful hunt. Any idea what he weighs (more than I'd want to drag in that sled)?

Eh...wot?

Everyone who makes statements like this has one thing in common: They have never done it an know very little to nothing about it.

I knew someone who knows absolutely nothing about me would have some kind of remark to make. If you would have read the post I did congratulate him on his bear hunt.
Finger pointing--- Look in the mirror.

Had a really close call with this Giant Boone & Crockett bear in May. Check out the vid. I'm heading to Theriau Lake Saskatchewan for next week hunting for a blonde bear. Flying out of Saskatoon.

No you didn't. You made a smart aleck, condescending remark. This place would be a lot more tolerable if people would keep comments like that to themselves.
