I honestly find it hard to believe that there are fellow trapper/hunters here on T-man that would bust a guy's chops about bear baiting.

If you don't want to hunt bears that way, then don't do it. But don't give those who choose to do so a hard time about it. Heck, why not just go ahead and make a donation to HSUS or PETA. Those groups agree with you guys.

I have lived in SK my entire life and hunt more then most. I have seen two bears when I haven’t been hunting them. Hunting with bait is the only realistic chance you get not to mention all the hard work involved with running baits.

I agree with Pete. I suspect the two negative commenters set strictly blind sets with no bait (if they even trap) and most likely don't even need decoys for geese hunting. I get some flak for hunting wolves on snowmobile from time to time because apparently the wolves don't have a "sporting chance" or we're not on an even playing field. EXACTLY!! I'm not out there for fun or to grow as a person. I'm out there to get a job done and put as many wolves on stretchers as I can. Nice bear Sask hunter, that's one animal that I haven't gotten yet.

I don't support either one of those groups. But as long as people continue to post these kinds of photos of hunting over bait on the world wide web I'm sure both of those group you mentioned will gladly add them to their arsenal to continue their fight to take away the hunting you all like so well.

I don't care what I post because I don't care what those groups think. Im a hunter and proud of it, if somebody doesn't like that then that's their problem not mine.

Gonna make sausage?

Looks like Mrs Barnes has got her undies bunched up ( again)

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Thank God for thermacells is right! So many mosquitoes during Spring Bear season. Congrats on the bear!

There is no way I wouldn’t use bait to hunt Bears here. We have a lot of bears, and still would have a hard time seeing one during season.
