I bought a 20’ storage container to store my atv’s and fishing stuff in. After a couple days I opened it up and it was over 100 deg in there with condensation everywhere. Now I’m worried everything is going to rust. Anyone use these containers and what was your fix.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

they have them for storage at one of the ranges I get to occasionally , they have one between every 2 pistol bays , they cut holes in the doors and put in luevered vents to cut down on the condensation.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Sounds like a ventilation issue. I agree with Pete, add some vents.

I'd cut vent screen holes in the corners and weld wire sheet screen over the holes then let the wind do it's job.

I have a couple of 20' conexes in a marine environment (SW Alaska) I keep outboard motors, four-wheelers and all kinds of other stuff in them and don't have any condensation issues. There are a couple of vents in each of them though.

From what I've been told is you want to get an insulated container vs an uninsulated as there is less temp change causing less of a chance for condensation to form.

I have had a 40' container for 5+ years. I store lots of different things in it including lawn mowers and 4 wheelers. It is not insulated and it does get hot inside in the summer but even with our high humidity conditions, I have never seen a drop of condensation in it. Some days, I am in and out of it quite a bit, other times it may be closed for a couple weeks at a time. Never any problem with moisture inside and the only visible vents are about 1 1/2" louvered boxes near the top on each side near the ends.

Paint the roof silver or put a double roof on it to shade the under roof.
Got electric in there, buy a De-Humidifier and run the hose outside a ways.

Buddy agrees venting issue. His dad's company uses a lot of them.
I've been wanting one but no room.

When you build a new barn they have you insulate the ceiling with a bubble wrap kind of insulation to keep the moisture down. Its between the roof and the truss like tar paper.
