You dont need any special equipment to chase a tornado. Rent a place to stay in OK city in early spring. Middle of march or so. Get a weather radar ap on your phone. Buy a gazateer map of tx ok and ks . Get a navigator. In a bad storm or rural area you need the paper map for when phone service fails.

If you get killed dont think you will be the first

No storms you go chase fire, after the fire here everybody is a bit tired of storm chasers.

I remember as a kid watching lightning strikes over the Chugach.

We had thunder, lightning, rain, and big winds here yesterday. Lots of trees down. Quite a variety of weather phenomenon in the US. Some states have volcanoes. Some have hurricanes, while others have a more significant number of tornadoes, some are more arid than others, some get heavy snow, some don't get any.

When I was in the army, I spent a winter at Fort Lewis, WA. I swear it rained every day from mid-January to the end of March.
