Set a couple of beaver traps today. I haven’t trapped beavers in a couple of years.
I was pretty excited when I drove past a beaver dam and house in the ditch down my road!

Got home and grabbed two Duke 330’s and put my dusty hip waders on! Drove down the road grinning ear to ear listening to Alanis Morisette.
I got out of the truck and stared at the water. For about 10 mins. I’m scared of water. I hate water. What’s in the water?
I tippy toed in a couple inches and had to jump back on solid ground. I swear a beaver or a pike was coming for me!
The beavers had a few trails on the other side of the ditch, and I wasn’t about to walk 1/4 mile down the road to cross. So I reminded myself I’m a man and quickly, really quickly wadded through the knee deep water.
Whew!! I made it!
Poured sweat setting those two traps in the open with the sun beating down on me! Why are the bulrushes always touching my neck?
Quickly crossed the water, cranked the AC in the truck, and cruised home. Mission accomplished.
Hope to have a beaver in the morning. I could smell castor the whole time I was setting the traps.
Smelled like money! And freedom!

start listening to Hank Williams jr. or Johnny Cash maybe Jason Aldean and Lynnard Skynnard's "Gimmee three steps Mister (beaver)" combine that with Jack Daniels and coca cola you won't even need hip boots

Good thing you don't have to worry about snakes, you'd really be in trouble LOL.

Ya, that’s your problem. You jinxed yourself before you even started by possibly listening to a song titled “ironic.”

Yes it should if he has one. I use one that I made and put a hook on the end also.

Seriously, I’m scared of a beaver or an otter climbing up my legs and biting me. I’m also scared of Jackfish coming for me too. All these really get me nervous when my hands are in the water setting the trap. My imagination gets me sometimes.

Lol you guys are funny. UPDATE••••

Caught the male now just waiting for the female and possibly kits. A neighbor down the road drove by as I was walking out with the beaver and told me he saw two big beavers swimming around the other day. He also told me he has a beaver or two at his place too for me to go after lol!
