I have been in contact with the good folks at Sleepy Creek Mfg. Contrary to what I have read on this site, and on the internet elsewhere, the company will remain in business. Yesterday I had some problem getting their internet store up, Mountain Run Supply, which may have been on my end. They are up, and have traps on-sale. https://mtnrunsply.com/ There company website is http://www.scmtraps.com/ They are close a facility in Berkely Springs "next year".

If you got questions call them direct at 800-323-9132 or 304-258-9175, or e-mail at SCMCustServ@scmtraps.com

Last year they also extended the baseplates on the #4 double longsprings out to the edge of the trap frame. This was at the request of people that felt they bent when set over their knee. This is what should be at dealers of their products now.

I am a big fan of their traps. The more I use them, the better I have liked them. Great designs with the excellent lockup and pan systems.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I'll be a fan once they change out their body grips springs to something that doesn't need changing right out of the box.

I have had good success with there traps. But they always left me wanting a stonger frame and longer lasting springs. The first sleepy creek number three long I set over the knee it bent and both sides of the jaws popped out. Took alot to fix it but still not ideal.

I've heard they were closing the Berkley Springs facility but isn't that their only facility?

If so,does this mean they will be outsourced? It seems like there is some missing information.

Anyone know if they will be at the NTA convention in Escanaba?
Or any venders that will have their products?

I need some 3 double longs for cat season, I want one in my hands before committing to buying....thanks

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

They are getting out of the trap manufacturing business. In order for Sleepy Creek to continue they need to find a US buyer. They will not outsource the product.

Did extending the baseplate on the No. 4 long springs solve the bending issue?
It seems to me like the jaw post needed strengthening also.
