It sounds like we may be getting a sixth branch of the military, the United States Space Force. Congress had previously looked into it and President Donald Trump is now trying to get it started.

No but they have taken away the right to own firearms from most of their populace, taken away the rights to hunt, fish and trap from most of their populace and taxed the heck out of their populace to support programs that don't benefit them. They have flooded European countries with immigrants from some of the World's worst countries, causing great harm and no immediate advantage for most of their residents. The EU is hoping to tax the immigrants descendants, in a few generations, after they assimilate, because they are worried about their population decline. The EU is basically throwing away their own working class to get better breeders, they can milk for work later.

Sounds like another start to a cold war, we put weapons in orbit so do the Chinese, Russians and middle east.

I think the communication and surveillance satellites we have in space now are what allow us to do what our military can do. Other nations are developing ways of taking those resources out of action. That's what we need to defend.

I don't know if a special branch of service is required for this instead of just having the Air Force handle it. But it seems obvious that modern military operations demand the use of space to effect what happens on the land and sea. If we lose our ability to operate in space, we are in big trouble down here. Plus, I would suspect great devastation could be inflicted on our economy by disruption of communications, and gps assets in orbit.
