Why don't you get rid of the royalty? The pledges and oaths, posturing and groveling they make your leaders do is embarrasing. It makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't like to see it and think the time is well past for it to end.

The queen certainly has a say in how Canada is run. There is still a Governor general of canada who is appointed by the queen, and all laws of Canada need royal assent by the Governor General. She hasnt as of yet decided to void any of Canada's law, but that is her prerogative.

Everything I have read says that the Canadian government is completely ruled by the queen, if she wants to exert that rule. That's definitely what all the oaths mean, that Canada's leaders make while groveling and debasing themselves to her or her image.
