For those taxidermists who have contacted me via PMs, inquiring about my ability to harvest more bobcats in 2019 that will have that south Texas beautiful blue phase and perhaps a bit of Ocelot markings, let me answer in mass so I don't have to cut and paste too much in my inbox.

I do catch approximately 25 cats each year that are unique in their appearance and markings to the degree that a taxidermist could fall in love with them for show and certainly retail. If you would like me to consider freezing the skinned specimen with paws and head not fully skinned out whereby you could skin them out to the degree you'll... let's chat. I don't give these cats away so the chat will start with a decent $$$ involved please.

Thanks
Mark

I have some in my cart to try for fox and coyote next season! I look forward to it.

Delaware Rob,

Windwalker is spiked with skunk essence but not to the point it's LOUD. It's "robust" and made to use right at the set for fatal attraction of all major predators but for some reason... dang the bobcats and lynx love love love it.

Ehhh, not bad. Keep at it and you'll be able to fill in that circle!
Just kidding. That is impressive as heck and I love the "barn" photo.
Awesome job! I can't imagine the amount of work and effort that went into catching that many cats and the other critters you mentioned.
And to dodge rattle snakes now to catch some??? Just wow!
Hat's off, partner.
Keep after them, Mark.
Really, really cool photo and congrat's on wearing them out!
Stay safe...and cool!!

Awesome, love seeing those well put up, beautiful cats. Takes a lot of hard work to get all those rascals to that point. Congrats

At the end of a long day when the last thing you feel like doing is skinning... guess what needs to happen. Skinning! I used to bring a freezer and put hides in it but ever try to skin a load of cats, then go to turn the hides, etc. Crazy hard by yourself. Now I skin and flip as I go. I don't borax my cats either as its a form of tanning that breaks down pelt fibers prior to the real tanning, so you get docked by those buyers who know what they are looking at (and the best ones do, trust me).

Thank you Dewey. The picture layout and angle was my wife Donna's idea.
She also took this picture after suggesting I lay out my traps after I was dying and waxing all my 550's.
Came out pretty cool.

Thanks Cameron. Donna got a super sweet Nikon camera this year and it has really been sweet to click, click, click on memories. I'm getting longer in the tooth so I need to click here and there as best I can in case the old bones in me give way grin

Flint Hill Fur,

I catch about 10-15 of those beauties a year. They are stunning.
My buddy Rusty Johnson loves to come trapping in south Texas as he piles them up also.

Two of those rosette beauties will bring as much as my 23 cats did in February. Always wanted to make a trip down to west or south tx for a trapping expedition but have heard it is real tuff getting on those ranches.

Flint Hill fur,

Getting on ranches is a bit hard primarily because most ranchers have a "war story" of some trapper previously who didn't quite pan out for one reason or another. Once burned, twice shy as they say.

People think that by offering services for free or nearly so, that they'll have a better chance scoring a ranch. It's the opposite. Ranchers realize they get what they pay for. I've upped my rates twice in last 18 months and will raise them again in 2019. Guy gets $109/hour here to service buggies... trappers out here charging the equivalent of $10/hour and I don't know why they do it.

Understand however that once you set your price... you have to deliver.

Can you show us the picture of the pack basket you use Mark to carry all those 550s? lol
The photo does help remind me of the work I have yet to do but on a much smaller scale.

Good pictures Mark! Thanks for sharing! Exactly how many 550’s are we looking at there?
