Yup....I was wro...wro,,,wro,,,wrong ( The Fonz ).....The Hummingbird at the feeder.....ain’t related to this nest. My son finally saw a bird on the nest...Was not a Hummingbird.

Maybe Iam wrong on the size of the nest....didn’t want to get too close....We put out a Hummimgbird feeder and you can watch the Hummingbird at the feeder...then return to the nest. The bird also takes a different route back to the nest each time ...as to not give the location away.


The wife feeds humming birds here, they will use this one tree in the yard a lot coming and going from the feeder. The little missiles will buzz by you at full speed when out around the yard, I swear one brushed my earlobe on the way by one day.

I've found a few empty nests like you pictured but never found them with babies in them. How far from the ground is the nest? The one's I've found are often ony two to three feet of the ground, I found one in a giant ragweed plant one time.

Could be it's a nest full of baby lovesick raccoons.
