That is a terrible tragedy, my condolences to everyone who had the privilege of being around her.

As for your question - I faced a similar type ordeal back in March. My wife went in for a routine surgery and they had to go back in for a second emergency surgery due to internal bleeding. The anesthesia back to back was a major concern, she had four units of blood put back into her and for 24 hrs was not able to breathe on her own. I hate to think what life would be without her - But every day since I have gone above and beyond to be the best person I can for her, as I know we got a second chance.

Don't take your spouse for granted, live every day as if you were still dating and full of adventure and getting to know each other.

My experience is, you are reduced to a weeping, blithering mess. Then, slowly but surely, you move on. Not a day goes by that you won't think of her. Prayers sent to the Hammonds family.

A guy who runs a Christian organization (CEF)here went in for heart surgery. Came out and died an hour or so later. I never met him but he was like a second dad to one of my friends and was close to our church. It makes you love even more.

Gods will does not always meet our will. He knows best and she shall live on through her donation to others. Prayers to her family and loved ones. May they understand and except the situation.

Prayers man. I couldn't imagine living a day without my life partner. We been together for 18 years and love every moment. I could only imagine how her husband feels. Its bad enough when you spend a lifetime with your spouse and they die at a old age but to loose her in there 40s would be horrible

My wife had a stroke at 34 years old. We are blessed with the life we have, as she has recovered almost 100 percent. Prayers for the Hammond family. May they find peace , in this time of hardship!!!

I have become, just what my Wife told my Brother I would be, if she died while she was in the hospital with Leukemia. She told my brother to help me out because I would become a basket case. She passed 3 years ago for those of you that don't know me. 9 months later my brother passed away; I have been in the opposite place of Heaven for 3 years., It hasn't gotten any easier and at times it is as horrible as anything you could ever imagine. We was married for 51 years and the time just went by in it seems like a very very short time.
Sorry I hijacked your thread, but you asked how we would cope. I ain't coping and probably never will.

Been married 30 years to my HS sweetheart and been together 36 years total. I hope that I go first as life would never be the same. Thoughts go out to this fine family.
