Our gas oven burner keeps going on and off. I am stumped as the cause. Originally I cleaned the baker burner and the ignition/ temp sensor did nothing. Replaced the ignition/temp sensor but the problem continues.

Just did a preheat turned off twice within the 10 minutes the last turn off was about 2-3 minutes long, it kicked back on for about 30 seconds. We really don't want to replace an entire oven right now. I know it is something easy to fix just stumped.

GCP it does. It's all built into one system the ignitor temp sensor and glow are all one unit.

Monster Toms I'll check

Most likely it's thermocouple or the thermostatic control

if you have already checked that , I have done glow igniters on 2 ovens now when they started getting touchy about lighting. even if they glow if they don't glow enough meaning get to a temp where they pass the current needed to open the gas solenoid valve then they work on and off till they don't work at all.

that has been my experience your unit may be different.

Interesting thanks GCP.
Below is the unit I replaced.

Side note it's only the baker burner (bottom) that is sensitive, the broiler burner is fine.

Check and make sure there is good airflow on the bottom panel. There should be some holes to let air circulate. Found out the hard way. Wife put a mat in the bottom to catch debris. Over didn't run right afterwards and the burner was cycling on and off. Sometimes there would be a hint of gas smell. Took the mat out. Problem solved.

check for a cracked solder connection on the back of the control board. You can resolder them. check the igniter wire continuity. The cracked solder connection looks like a circle around the solder joint. Possibly a bad relay on the control bard. You might find a free stove on craigslist.

You said the igniter and temperature sensor is one unit. That cant be correct I bet the oven temperature sensor is no good. I will check with the model wiring diagram.

Look inside the oven up high on the left and you should see the oven temperature sensor. You remove it from the back side of the stove it has 2 screws holing it in. you may have to take a cover off the back of the stove. It also has two wires to disconnect.

I'd lean toward weak spring in gas safety valve.
