Unfortunately a guy hit a doe today while mowing hay and the fawn was okay, so now I have 2, the new one looks to be just a day or two old and doesn't want to take a bottle. Any suggestions to help him take the bottle better If it's like goat kids, if it recently nursed on it's mother, it may take up to 12 hours before it will be hungry enough to take a bottle. Keith

I'm betting It would be Illegal to do so In most states without some kind of permission.

You are correct beav, its illegal to raise them here unless special permitting. I'm volunteering for a wildlife rehabilitation center to raise these guys for them Yeah, illegal here also. I’m glad you are doing the rehab and volunteering. Could probably learn a lot about their behavior by raising them.

I'm betting It would be Illegal to do so In most states without some kind of permission. If they are not confined to any enclosed area they are not really captive are they just handing out then!

I'm glad there are those trappers that can legally do this. But If I found an abandon fawn and carried it home I would be In violation. Not to many abandon fawns end up In ones back yard on their own.

Update on the fawns I'm raising, the little doe has done great and is now picking a lot of natural browse, the little buck got the scours and I was afraid I was going to lose him but I gave him some keaopectate and Pedialyte for a 24 he period and now he's doing great and about to catch up to the doe fawn. They have been a lot of work but the kids have really enjoyed them Thanks for the update. How large of a pen do you need for them?

illegal here too. hard as it is to let them die it is probably for the best.
