His grandpa is really his godfather but just an awesome christian guy and loves my son. He loves to be with grandpa and loves him as much as I loved my grandpa. As it should be. His grandparents in the philippines never made any effort to be involved in his life.

That's a great thing. My kids think there is nothing like their papa. I can still remember doing things with my grandpa and brings a smile to my face, he was a WW2 purple heart recipient and was a very stern man but he loved us grandkids

Grandpa's are great and a vital supplement to fathers.

Was very fond of mine and because he didn't have to work full time he was able to teach me many lessons.

only knew my one "Pap". He was kind of a stern man, but had a lot of pride in the family.

right before he died, I visited with him at the veteran's home. He was 93, nearly blind and in a wheelchair. I'd heard he wasn't eating right and called him on it.

I said "Pap, I hear you're not eating. I'm going come back here and kick your (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) if you don't start eating right." He looked me square in the eye and said "Do you think you Can?"

Tough, old geezer!

Yea white marlin that's exactly like my grandpa, he'd bust our arse in a second, but loved us dearly. He was a tough old man, shot twice in WW2, unfortunately he died in the veterans home in Johnson City when I was 15, but even at a young age I knew he was a man that I wanted to be like. He never spoke much about the war and I really didn't understand what he'd actually done until after he died and friends and family filled me in. He was my hero long before I knew he was an American hero. And fortunately for me, my dad is the same caliber of man, so my kids are blessed with a great grandpa that they see everyday. I hope I can be that "hero" to my kids and hopefully grandkids one day

Thank the Lord for Grandpas! If I hadnt had 2 great ones I would have not had a solid father figure in my life. Miss both of mine a lot.

My wife went to Alaska and spent some time with the grandsons. Then she brought them back to WI. They have been here for about 2 weeks and I'm taking them back on the 6th of July. Then I'm spending the rest of the summer with them and coming home around the 1st of Sept.
I have been doing that for about 5 years now. I sure love being with those boys.
