We bought a used 2010 tundra dbl cab 5.7L. Last october replaced the tranny $6000.00. Then december 4wd actuator. then march rear speed sensor wire harness. Now the 4LO light flashing on-off. It runs and drives ok I have not tried the 4wd. I tried to look it up on line but couldnt find any meaning of the flashing 4LO. Is the 2010 tundra just junk. My 2007 tundra just keeps going 148k miles. The 2010 90k miles and nothing but a money pit. Anybody know what 4LO flashing mean?

It might be s wheel sensor if they got one.
I tore one off one time in deep crusted snow and muck it gave some weird stuff on the dash and I was stuck in 4 wheel drive until it was fixed.

It might be red mt they did replace them with the rear wire harness. I havent used the 4wd in a couple weeks. I think I may have to take a loss and get rid of it.

My 2010 Tundra has 176,000 miles on it, and all I've had done is the brakes, battery replaced and oil changes. It's two wheel drive. Its my road truck, and has the 4.6L. My transmission seems to be doing good.

I have a 2008 Tundra Dbl. cab w/ the 5.7.

A couple of months ago the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, service engine light, VSC off light, trac off light came on and 4 low was blinking. Mu oil pressure dropped way off. It was throwing a code (on my reader) for the variable valve timing solenoids. Before I started replacing them (there are four and they ain't cheap) I took it to my garage to have the problem diagnosed. Turns out the last idiot that changed the canister type oil filter didn't install it correctly and 1,200 miles later the filter collapsed. It was a simple fix once it was figured out but it took my mechanic some time to realize.

Hook it up to a code reader and see what codes it's throwing.

Eh...wot?

I don't have real high mileage on mine but at least half those miles have been towing a 10,000 lb trailer. It's my work truck and I use it hard. So far no issue besides normal maintenance and the oil filter thing.

Maybe you got a lemon?

Eh...wot?

Sounds like a bad actuator.

What caused the transmission failure?

The only ones I’ve seen fail were either repeatedly shifted to D while still moving backwards or had fluid leak out after flush.

I’ve had 2008, 2010, 2011 Tundras all with 250K + miles with zero issues.

Art It was used as a plow truck. I knew that when i bought it but the i found out they also hauled a horse trailer. I was out with back problems and my wife had to deal with the truck problems at the toyota dealer. I was drugged and in the hospital.
