I recently bought a new place against the national forest that is loaded with grey and red fox along with bobcats. I usually catch 3 to 4 coyotes a year and a bobcat or two on the 80 acre farm I owned. The bobcats, I give to friends who want to have them mounted or I donate them to a taxidermy school about 40 minutes away.

Whats the value on red and gray fox? It is worth putting up the fur? My kids and I trap mostly raccoon, opossums and the occasional skunk for fun to help our turkey population.

What methods are needed or diff in fox trapping than coyote or bobcats??? I mostly use flat sets, dirt hole sets and I am certified in cable restraint.

8-10 bucks for your better red fox, 15-20 for your better grays, at the moment.

I am no authority as we hardly have any red around here at all. Last year I caught my first red in 5 years and Groenewold gave me $15. He said it was really nice but caught a little early(last week of Nov).

if you can catch a coyote you can catch a fox - smaller traps and less pan tension are generally found with fox trappers. A nice big coon where you are at will likely bring close the same as a fox but foxes are much easier to scrape.

There was a guy on here last fall paying $200 a piece for cage / CR caught grey fox. If you had 2 he would come get them.. You might do some digging and find his post. It might be worth the effort, if you're LOADED with fox..
