I'm sure a lot here know about the App's that you can download for plant identification. There are different ones and are free. I haven't downloaded one yet but will. You take a picture of the plant and it gives you the answer it is really amazing.

My sons have always been into forestry and learned most of our native trees and plants by the time they were 12. The oldest just finished his bachelor's degree and his old 4H advisor sent him the ap for his phone. It would have made the learning curve much shorter, but I'm still glad the boys learned the old fashion way.

^ >>> I just downloaded "Picture this". I went out and tested it and the plant was ID correctly. It will even ID a picture y0u have in your album that is stored in your pictures. I tried that and it correctly ID that plant as well. It may give you two choices on one plant. I then took a picture of the leave and flower only and it ID it right.

A couple of our daughters use one, it works, but I have no idea what it is called.

I have plant snap, which has been handy in a pinch but I've grown to appreciate the botany lessons from my youth alot more and try to share that same knowledge to my kids when I can.

I wonder if they work on Android systems. Those apps sound incredible.
