Any of you folks have any experience using a air-conditioner and CoolBot in walk in cooler?
debating ordering set up instead of the more expensive traditional set ups for 8x10 walk in cooler building into shop.
thanks

Yes. Have been using one for several years in my home made deer cooler. Works well.

I have done some research on the CoolBot device. Most all who have them think they are a great product. I plan on making a small walk in someday and use the CoolBot and a window AC unit for the cooling.

Buy an enclosed trailer and spray foam or blue board it and have a traveling meat locker on hunting trips or parked behind the barn.

Been using one for 5 years now. Absolutely love it has been plus 30c out and no problem keeping it around 2-3. Just have to insulate it properly.

What's the cost for a 8x10 unit all in if anyone has one, just curious.

I've not used one but have a friend that used one at their hunting camp. Worked good as long as you didn't go in and out very much. Insulation is key. I was looking for cooler panels to do the coolbot for a deer cooler and found a complete 6x8 cooler with the compressor for $500. Craigslist has a lot of coolers or just panels for sale. Restaurants fail all the time and sometimes you can get lucky.

Have had one for 4 years now. For most applications that one of us would likely need a walk in cooler for they work well. I have a 5 x 8 enclosed trailer that I insulated with foam board insulation and spray foam and it will stay at 35 degrees no problem. I also have built a temporary room in my garage with the same type of insulation panels and it works well. 35 degrees is as cold as you can go as far as I know.
