Grand ole Opry
Most of the barbecue places are a little touristy. Unless you haven’t had really good bbq, then it is just a little dry and over cooked.
Check out the Belle Meade plantation.

Looking for some pointers on things to check out around Nashville, we are planning a trip over Labor Day weekend.
I realize the downtown area alone can keep some bluegrass loving Yankees busy for days, but how about a fishing hole? Or something a trapper would dig?
Thanks, first trip south of the Mason-Dixon, hoping for the best. FOR A FISHING SPOT OR TWO, PERCY PRIEST LAKE JUST EAST OF TOWN, AND OLD HICKORY LAKE JUST NORTH OF TOWN. MAYBE EVEN FLOAT THE DUCK RIVER A LITTLE SOUTH OF TOWN.

I go down that way at least once or twice a year. I'd have to go to the Smokey Mountains at least for an overnight. Probably a bit over a three hour drive from nashville but lots to see and do. Both spots will cost plenty. Lots of waterfalls and views for the outdoor guy. Can raft, tube, zipline, horseback ride, 4 wheel, etc.
