I’ve always got a rush out of gambling. I guess that’s why I like fur buying too. Walked into the casino in New Orleans and put $500 down just walked out with 5 figures. Black jack and roulette. Got em!!

It's not the wins...it's the Annual losses that a Gambler doesn't want to acknowledge.

I made the biggest gamble of my life in 1976. Got married in Circus Circus casino - Las Vegas. Marriage is still going stronger than ever. I won big, my wife not so much. LOL

congrats coonman my wife and i go we never go in thinking were going to win its all about having a good time playing watching people and having a good meal a day away. it doesnt matter if coonman goes next time and loses what he won and that much more if he has a good time and can afford it. corky i think your right we got married in 1974 when we set in the back yard with the dogs watching this years chickens ducks and rabbits running around at the end of the day with a beer in our hands im sure my wife was the best bet i ever made. its all about enjoying life and what life has to offer.

Congrats. I don't win a lot but don't play with a lot either. Usually $20-$40. What kind of black jack? Went last too could not get a seat at a table (that's what I mainly play) and barely found an open slot. Lost $10

Pennsylvania has the second largest gambling industry in the nation, only Nevada is larger. It's funny to watch the tv ads that run for the various casinos.....young, hip, well dressed and good looking people. Go to a casino, all you see is old folks with walkers and oxygen bottles. Funny, those who have limited incomes seem to gamble the most.

Fancy casinos weren't paid for by winners, but by the overwhelming number of losers who frequent them.

I thank the good lord I never got anything out of gambling....a few other activities that could ruin your life as well.

Happy you made out, though.

I know a guy who just won 200K. Probably spent that winning it...But to each his own. He's a fur buyer, too.

I won too! I ate at Taco Bell yesterday and made it to the toilet in time this morning. I love it when a plan comes together!

I have nothing clever to put here.

[quote=160user]I won too! I ate at Taco Bell yesterday and made it to the toilet in time this morning. I love it when a plan comes together! [/quoteFunny you bring it up. I went to a local Mexican restaurant yesterday for lunch and had a dish called 'tot surprise'. It's tater tots in the usual Mexican frills. The surprise came from having to stop at the gas station 5 minutes after leaving due to a fecal emergency.

I like playing poker. I used to play a ton when we could play online. Made good money. Averaged almost 35 dollars an hour profit over a 5 year span until they pulled the plug. That was in cash game and tournaments and not counting the live play I did fairly regular. I woke up one April morning to log on for my daily session of 20 tabling 180 seat tournaments and the FBI logo was staring me in the face saying the site had been seized. I eventually got the money I had in my account with the site back but that was the end of online poker for me.

I tried to transition into live play after the Feds and my State shutdown online play. I made it a few months before I got sick of the casino's and went and found something else to do. The live games are super easy compared to online and I was right at the 30 dollar an hour mark even though in live play you may see 30 hands an hour if the game moves along and online you will see 60 or 70 per table easy and I generally played 12 tables in cash games plus 8 tournaments all at the same time. When I was just playing tournaments I shot for 20 at a time. In tournaments the decisions are more automatic. I just got sick of the atmosphere.

I can't play the house with a good conscious. Slot machines are boring to me. There is no decision making involved. I will play blackjack from time to time if I go to the casino with someone else. That way we can socialize. Even in blackjack the house alway has an edge.

At the poker table the goal is to let your opponents gamble when you have the edge. A good poker player is "the house". You just rent your seat at the table from the casino.

I don’t gamble much, every 3-4 years or so if we go somewhere on vacation I’ll take a few grand to throw around, I just got lucky last night and won a few big hands in blackjack and about 7-8 spins in a row on roulette with a max bet lol. Easy to bet big once your up on top a little bit, not so much when your down. You can never win big if you don’t bet it, sometimes when I’m feeling good I don’t look at the minimum bet but see what the max is. Now to go have a good time, I won’t step foot back in a casino prob for another 3-4 years but I sure do love that rush.

P.s Wife was real happy when she woke up to a purse full of money too

I'd watch and do what she does. It sounds like she's got the odds beat!
